July Haul

DSCF1902 So as we are finally in August now, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about all the beauty products I got in July. I was reluctant to buying makeup this month because at this moment in time I’m saving for a holiday and a house with my boyfriend next year. BUT, I just could not help myself. I made an exception with some things, whereas one was a very naughty with.

The first two products I got were from Makeup Revolution. They were so inexpensive so I decided to get the Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar. It contains four blushes, two highlighters and two bronze shades ideal for contouring. I’m not going to lie, for £6 this palette is amazing. The colours are very pigmented and they look very flawless on the skin. I tend to use the matte bronze shade to contour and it blends really well on the skin. The blush and the highlight colours are so beautiful and really compliment the bronzed look wonderfully.

The next Revolution palette I bought was the Ultra Professional Eyeshadow Flawless Matte. This palette is £8 and ranges from cool shades to warm shades. I am a huge fan of matte eyeshadow because it is perfect to blend in the crease. These colours are also very pigmented and blend so well. Usually inexpensive eyeshadows aren’t great but this is a huge exception.

The next two products I got were from Mac Cosmetics. I have never had a lip pencil from there, so when I got my makeup done last month (separate blog post coming soon) I got the lip pencil and lipstick they used. The lip pencil shade is Whirl, a cult classic thanks to Kylie Jenner’s famous lip combo. The colour is so beautiful, and it is a shade you could wear under pretty much any colour for the lipstick to last all day.
The lipstick colour is Viva Glam II. Another beautiful brownish/nude shade. It is such a pretty colour and is so simple to pair with a smokey eye. I love the packaging too, as it is not just the simple silver and black packaging. It is red to promote the Viva Glam collection and I love it, so simplistic yet so elegant.

The next three products were from Superdrug. I have always wanted to try the Collection 2000 concealer, as it is raved about so much by Zoella – one of my favourite youtubers. I got the lightest shade to highlight under the eyes, on the forehead, down the nose and on the chin. Everyone looks a good highlight after all! The next two things I bought were two mascaras from Maxfactor. These were basically just back ups, Maxfactor are definitely one of my favourite brands for Mascara.

The next thing I bought was from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I decided after many months of contemplating getting the dipbrow promade I finally got it. I really don’t know why I didn’t get this earlier because it has made my brows amazing. I decided to get the shade chocolate because it worked best with my hair colour. You really don’t need to use a lot of the product because a little goes a long way due to it being a gel product.

The final product I purchased in July was a very VERY naughty one. I have wanted the Lorac Pro Mega eyeshadow palette for a while now. It contains 32 beautiful shades from matte to shimmer. Due to this being limited edition it was very expensive, but I would like to say it is worth it but I don’t really think the extortionate price is. Look on Amazon if you reallllly want to see how much it truly is. But overall, the product is great and I’m probably going to use it everyday.

So that’s my July haul, I hope you enjoyed the read!
Love always, Beth x

My Top 5 MAC Cosmetics Lipsticks

As you will all know, MAC cosmetics lipsticks are one of the best selling lipsticks. There are such a wide range of colours, there is so much to choose from. Which is what made my choosing only five of my favourites a struggle. I didn’t want to go for colours that looked the same, I decided to go for darks and nudes because I know not everyone has the same taste.

The first colour I chose was ‘Diva’. This colour is a dark purple shade which looks perfect on any skin tone. As you can see from the photo, it is not always a shade I wear because I’m a nude gal, but this colour is amazing if you want a change. It is matte finish so stays on the skin all day, it does not stain the skin around the lips if you overdraw your lips. I personally love this colour because its so bold and eye catching if you want to stand out in the crowd. I would like to thank my beautiful best friends for buying me this for my birthday. If they didn’t buy this, I would never of realised how beautiful this shade actually is. Shout out to you Emily and Tasha x

The next colour is Russian Red. This is a very vivid matte red, and I absolutely love it. I tend to pair this lipstick with a natural eye look and it works so well. Of course everyone’s opinion is different, but everyone needs a red lippy in their collection. If you’re looking for one, I promise you would not be disappointed with this shade. Its so pigmented and one swipe on the lips is all you need.

The next shade is my most used and most loved. Honey Love. This is my precious lipstick, and I am so glad I purchased this. This was the first MAC lipstick I ever bought because it reminded me of Velvet Teddy. In a way, I’m so glad Velvet Teddy was sold out that day because I got to purchase this one instead. This shade is very similar to Velvet Teddy but a lot more nude whereas Velvet Teddy is more brown. (I’ve typed Velvet Teddy that much, the words look weird now). This is another matte finish – as you can tell, I’m a fan of matte finishing lipsticks – but the final result of this lipstick is beautiful. I sometimes pair this shade with ‘Twig’ and give it the ombre effect and I can’t get enough of it. I would recommend this lipstick a million times.

The next shade is a perfect nude, Blankety. At first, when I looked at the lipstick online I thought it would look like foundation lips, we all know what foundation lips are and it is NOT a good look. Despite this I purchased it, and I was in awe when I put this on. Lipstick is one of my favourite parts of makeup, alongside foundation – so I get a little excited when I love a shade. Make up lovers can relate. This shade is perfect on any look, whether its just an every day look or a bold look. Don’t worry about what eye look you pair with this because it will look so good. This shade is an amplified finish, so its very glossy and in my opinion, plumps my lips and makes them look bigger. Magic, I know. I wear this pretty much everyday (if honey love is having a day off of course). A definite must in everyone’s lipstick collection.

Finally, we have a well known shade, Twig. Twig is a mix between a dark shade and a nude shade which is why this is one of my favourites. Again, I think this lipstick goes with any look because its so natural looking and gives a great finishing touch. This is a satin finish, which is a little glossy but looks more natural then an amplified lipstick. Beautifuuuuuuuuuuul.

All MAC lipsticks are £15.50, unless they are limited edition of a different type of lipstick (I’m the worst at explaining, I apologise).

Or if you would like to access the lipstick page on MAC, then the link for that is here.
I hope this post was helpful if your looking to purchase another lipstick sometime soon, and if you are HAPPY SHOPPING.

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation Review

So yesterday, me and my boyfriend went on a little shopping trip. I knew I wanted to buy some make up but I didn’t know what exactly it would be I bought. But I was determined to come home with something I have wanted to try for awhile.
We took a trip to Selfridges in Manchester Exchange (personally, i prefer the Trafford Centre, but getting there when you can’t drive is a hell to the no), we wondered around for a bit and I honestly had no idea what I was going to get, until I saw it. The Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation which has just recently been released. My boyfriend saw how excited I was (I was like a child at Christmas) and decided to purchase it for me.
As you could imagine I was screeching, he knows my passion too well. I decided to get the colour Mont Blanc, which is a pinkish toned foundation.
I have only tried this once, usually I would try something a few times before writing a review but I felt that this time wasn’t necessary. As soon as I applied this to my skin, it sat so well and I fell in love with it straight away. As the foundation is so watery, a few pumps can go a long way as it spreads around your skin evenly and smoothly. It is TO DIE FOR. Despite the very brow raising price of £32, this foundation is a gift sent from Heaven. I am combination skin, and this foundation is perfect. They aren’t kidding when they put ‘luminous’ in the name, because it does just that. I think it would be completely pointless to even think of applying a matte powder over this, as you would be wasting £32. What makes this foundation even better is the pump! I have always comtemplated getting the Nars Sheer Glow because it never had a pump and i didn’t want to waste extra money on a pump if the foundation was no good for me, so I was extra excited when I researched and found out it had a pump. It made me want it even more.
I would definitely repurchase this, and encourage people looking for a new foundation to try this. I understand it is an expensive foundation, but a little pump can go a long way. If you wish to purchase the foundation from Selfridges where I got it, feel free to click the link here.

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation Review

One Of Those Days

Today is one of those days where my hormones get the worst of me. Everyone has those days where nothing goes right, or you just feel like a piece of crap. Today is one of those days for me. There is nothing worse than waking up, and immediately knowing the day ahead is going to be long, boring and just very uneventful.

Trying to make myself happy is just impossible when I’m like this. It gets worse now, because since I have a huuuuge belly, I don’t have many clothes that fit which also depresses me. It’s just one of those days when you look in the mirror and just think; ‘ugh- what do I look like’…
